What about the lights
How do you plan to place the grow tent? On it's back (to get 8x8 ft. of walking space) or full height (normal) with 8ft. ceiling height and less space?

The lights you've linked are extremely powerful and I wouldn't use them at distances lower than 4ft. Colored diodes are also an issue. I would prefer to get Arcadia JungleDawn LED bars - they are more suited for terrariums and are in the close price range (160USD for 48" LumenIZE JungleDawn light).

I haven't thought about that Alex and the Redfoot.
What do you suggest on the side or straight up?
Thank you for the information on the lights.

It's your decision how to set this up, considering available room space etc.

1. When you lay it on the bottom you'll get a lot of walking space (8x8), sufficient height to hang the lights (2-3 ft ?). But maintenance is really hard (it's not easy to reach the middle of such enclosure without stepping inside. Also, you'll have to put some pond liner or similar to water proof the enclosure.
2. When it's standing normal - there will be less available space for the tortoise, but you can walk inside to do cleanup, "gardening" etc and you can reuse water tray as water-proof bottom lining. The drawbacks are: more heat loss due to enclosure height, more hassle with hanging lights at appropriate height.

Since you have a sulcata, I think it's better to maximise floor space. In theory, you can add a "cleanup crew" (pillbugs and springtails) to ease spot cleaning - no need for the full "bioactive" setup with complex substrate mix etc. as this is temporary accomodation.

OP looks at hydroponic grow tent - these things are better than greenhouses for keeping heat and humidity but have weird (for tortoises) dimensions like 8 ft. wide, 2 ft. deep and 8 ft. tall.

I'm sorry Maggie3fan, if I offended you, I didn't mean to, sometimes things come out the wrong way. So my deepest apology. I appreciate your input.
I'm hard to offend...no worries...frankly, I didn't read 10'x10'...I blew it! I'm the one who should apologize

I may have missed it, but how big is your tortoise? SCL (= the distance from the front edge of the carapace to the back edge, measured horizontally with the tortoise flat on the ground) and weight?

I am glad I slowed you all the screenshot because we would have bought it. So thank you for the information everyone. I appreciate it.
I keep my baby tortoise in a large Tupperware tub and he is doing amazing, I mist in the morning give daily soaks, he’s got plants for coverage two nice hides that he utilizes frequently. You don’t need nothing fancy
