I was wondering if I could use this in my tortoise enclosure to secure the tarp to the wood. Staples just were not working. Would I have to wait a month if I used this?

The thing that I would worry about is that since it s a glue/adhesive and you are using for a tortoise enclosure that will have high constant basking heat spot that you may continue to have fumes emitting for up to a year....or more....

Use plain old silicone caulking. Impervious to heat and water and totally non-toxic after it cures for 48 hours.

I use it and have never had a problem with fumes after it cures. If you decide to use it put hand cream on both hands before using it because you will most likely get some on your fingers and the cream makes it much easier to get it off your fingers and be sure to keep the nozzle clean, if you get a build up on the spray nozzle between uses sometimes it goes where you don't want it to go, you can shield the surrounding area with something as simple as newspaper. It doesn't take much glue to work so spray lightly and it dries quick.

This. We used this to seal all the wood together for our table, then many coats of paint and varnish.
