golden greeks

i have an 8 year old golden greek which i bought from a pet shop for less than 3 euros at that time he was a hatchling i raised him and he grew quite fast now i want a female but i have never found another golden greek . any idea why i cant find more .

I just adopted one off Craigslist. The previous owner purchased him 3 months ago at Petsmart in southern Oregon.
