Well, that's one way to do it. Minus the gopher parts, it looks like fun!

Oh yes. You can freeze them and bring them down with you on your next visit!:D

Haha. It just makes me feel better to know that I'm "harvesting" the fruit of the land and putting it to good use, instead of just chucking them in the trash. I'd still keel-haul those little, tree killing, root eating bast**dS even if I didn't have something to feed them to.

When I was shooting a dozen gophers a day in an area less than 1 acre, *something* came in and ate them all every night. There was a fox den across the highway, and who knows what living in the surrounding wetlands. I figured I was helping some poor creature to an easy meal!
