A decoy of hawk may work. Your decoy of egret may just be s sign to him say come here, it is safe to land here. Hahahahahaha.

Its a turtle pond and they come out on the rock in the middle to bask. That and I don't like the look of the netting. When I re-do the pond I'll make it a bit more fish friendly.

I kinda thought the same thing. I love the pond!!

Hi Murray:

You might have done better if you had Spenser closer to the turtle pond instead of over by the swimming pool!

A couple years ago the same thing happened to my pond. An egret ate all my fish, even the mosquito fish. I didn't have a clue until one day I saw him perched on top of my garage. Then I went and looked in the pond and it was completely barren. I sat there for a while thinking that the big bird had frightened the fish into hiding, but nope. All the fish were gone.
