I don't know the answer, but I just wanted to make the comment that I kept the first leopard baby that I ever hatched (Babcock). He seemed to grow really slowly. This past summer I bought a couple of Pardalis babies from Tom and they are growing pretty fast.

I guess the best way to form some kind of opinion about your question is to start a poll.

The babies I am hatching out are gaining about 1 to 2 grams a week.

They must be eating pretty good for you! I weighed them right when they hatched, the smaller one was 18 bigger was 20. They are both about 3 weeks old so the little one is just above 1 gram a week and the bigger one just above 2.

Sorry to hijack this thread... I just got a Leopard Tortoise Hybrid (P.pardalis and P.Backoki; Jeff Price Stock) from a friend. He was not kept in the best conditions; Runny Nose and Swollen eyes. He was kept in a Chameleon enclosure with spiral UVB bulbs. Anyways, Whats the growth rate on a Hybrid?

He has the personality of a P.Pardalis when left alone to roam (Very Active), but a backoki when picked up (Very Shy). Question. Why doesnt he like to bask under the MVB?. He was an outside enclosure and was more in the shade than taking in the rays. Im trying to keep him warm due to nasal discharge (its clear mucus, he make bubbles). I am going to be administering nose drops tonight. He has a bit of swollen eyes, but they are getting better (soaking him twice a day). Sorry for Hijacking

The thread made me curious, so I got their little growth book out and ran the math. Mr.T and Octavia were a LPS purchase before we found the forum and even knew there was more then one type. Mr.T is a babcocki and has been averaging 2.72g/week, although he did flatline for a bit when we introduced the 2 new babies. I'm convinced Octavia is either a hybrid or some kind of genetic oddity, she's averaged 5.51g/week. They were purchased at the same time, been in the same enclosure together, and have eaten the same food the whole time. She's not a food bully, she's just fat. Hope this helps.
