My name is Haley, I grew up in the Florida Keys and am going to school in Asheville, NC with my two red-foot tortoises. Tortoisaurus Rex and Lieutenant Shiny Side were both born in my parents' backyard along with Alfrie the leopard tortoise and about 17 box turtles. My dad has had turtles and tortoises since he was a five-year-old in a military base in Germany. When his family moved back to the States, his dad, a military officer, made sure each of his tortoises also made the journey. I'm studing ecology and hope to work for conservation efforts and outdoor education programs.
