Have had two heat lamps in the last two 4 weeks, they have both blown out. Is it normal for them to last two weeks! I can't go and buy 15 dollar lights (I would if I could, my parents would not let me). Am I getting bad ones or is this normal. Thanks!

Check to see up to how much watts your lamp can hold. You might be using bulbs that have higher watts than the lamp can hold.

The other option is to get some ceramic heat emitters (CHE's), they usually last a very long time (at least a year, many 5+ years). Just be careful where you mount them, they get hot!

If you buy bulbs at a petco or petsmart they offer a 60 day replacement with the receipt. I had some blow out pretty quick and asked them what the return policy was. So I have been saving my receipts

The only problem with heat emitters is they put off no light. Also my heat light holder can hold up to 600 volts and the bulb is 100.
