Hello wonderful people!

Thank you so much for your advice and encouragement,

Alexander decided to ignore his breakfast of green spring mix and kiwi, so, alas, as per your recommendation I guess he will not eat today.

I was thinking on getting him aloe vera plants.

An otherwise healthy Redfoot can go a few days, even a week or more without eating and be fine.
It's true that when he gets good and hungry, he will be happy to eat whatever you give him.
They DO get spoiled if you let them.
Eventually, he should settle down and eat a great variety of foods. Redfoot have one of the largest menus of any tortoise. They can and will eat a variety of foods.
I do offer wetted dry dog food about once every two or three weeks. It's my preferred protein source, but certainly not the only one you can use.

Good to see you caring so much for Alexander!

I live in Jamaica with a similar climate to yours, but in the hills, so it's cooler, and I have to bring mine indoors at night.

I definitely would protect him from bird predators or cats.....use chicken wire as suggested. That is what I use, because we have mongoose as well to watch out for here.
