Hello... greeting from Indonesia.
Finally.. after several threads asking help for preparing enclosure, plants, and stuffs... I can now officially declare I am a proud and ready owner for adopting a baby sulcata. Still have a lot of newbie questions will coming out from me. So help is always needed from beloved members here. ;)

Give a welcome for 3 months old "Toro". He arrived 2 days ago. Hope i can be a good parent for him/her. I'm so excited these days, it's my first time to see a baby sulcata, i get Toro from shipping and pictures. Upon arrival, I'm a bit shocked, pictures don't do any justice to baby sulcata's cuteness.

Anyway, if anyone interested for more pics of Toro, i will update it on Instagram: @toro_sulcata
Now, Toro is 57gram and 2.5".

Welcome to the Forum!

Be sure to keep Toro in a humid environment. It looks like the people he came from kept him pretty dry.

(And you're right! He's very cute!!)

A gorgeous little tort! GOD bless.

Take good care of him:

1) Please read the "Beginners Mistakes" Thread, and the care sheets available.
2) Soak your cute tort in warm water daily so as to avoid dehydration and pyramiding. Humidity is necessary here.
3) Make sure he is warm, and he gets exposed to the sun.

And good luck!:tort:

Yes, he / she is pyramiding, hope i can end it o_Oo_O. Will do the recommendation routine ;) @Yvonne G @Gillian Moore
Take care, particularly if the climate is dry in Indonesia. I live in Jordan where the climate is extremely dry. Therefore I am twice as careful as far as humidity is concerned. ;)

Well done! :) No, don't worry: two soaks are not too many in hot weather.

By the way, I posted a thread called "How Many Soaks?' yesterday (if I am not mistaken). I was told that the soaks I'm giving Oli :<3: are not too many. In other words they won't harm a tort. ;) Please check that thread which might help you.:)

He's a cutie! I can't tell if those urates are creamy or gritty, but for sure there's a lot. When I soak mine I put enough water for the babies' tails to be submerged, the bottom edge of carapace is also in water. When mine go marching down to the deep side at the very end of it they have to stick their heads up to keep their nostrils above water. Now I never put them there, they do it themselves. I also NEVER leave them unattended in bath.

I'd rather not wake Oli :<3:up, to give him a soak. Don't like to disturb him.

Hardly. He is sleeping all the time. I have to choose whether to let him sleep or wake him up to soak, because i have to work

Hi again!

I like so much the color of Toro, he/she looks like very healthy.

You can find the Toro's "little tooth" in front and under his/her nose. I show you a picture of this:

It's a small "spine" protruding.

Toro used this "little tooth" to break the egg when she/he was born.

*Sorry for my bad english, but I still not mastered.
