Hello from Barrie Ontario! I am Alicia and my baby sulcata is named Waffles. We have been together since Sunday, March 10. He is my first ever reptile, I already have 3 dogs and a cat so this is totally new for me. I look forward to learning all I can to be the best mom for Waffles.

Hi and welcome! I love the name Waffles. :D How did you happen to decide a sulcata was right for you?

RE: Hello from me & Waffles

Hi Jacqui. I have wanted a tortoise for a while and a friend of mine has a sulcata and so does a co worker's girlfriend. They have always been my favourite and after talking with them and their experiences, I felt it was time to get one of my own.

Living in Ontario, how do you plan on housing him in the winter months and transporting a 200 pound animal in to the basement? I live in S FLorida and when it gets below a certain temp, I have to move mine into a heated shed. I can't imagine housing a sulcatta inside for 9 months out of the year. Not to mention, it will require a huge indoor space.

Hi scottip. I have a walk out basement which is unfinished so I plan to make him something there. The sliding door leads right out to the back yard so he will be able to walk in and out of the house.
