I had a Russian tortoise walk into my backyard a few months ago, after an extensive search to find her( according to the vet) parents we are now taking her in.
My Name is Katie, I live in southern California.
Our tortoise has been given the name Gertrude, or Gerty for short.
The vet could not determine how old she was, she just said she is old based on her size and shell wear.
Any tips on taking care is appreciated.
Will post pictures once my husband brings home my transfer cord.

Hi and welcome! Have you checked out the information at this site? russiantortoise.net They have the best information on care around and it's done by folks with lots of Russian experience (which is almost always the way to go).
