Yesterday my 65w Incandescent flood light went out. I went to the hardware store to find out they have now been banned????
What should I get?
My enclosure is 48 x 24x24
( I also have a radiant heat panel for night)

Thank you for the help!!!!

Amazon has them. There are several to choose from but stock is low. If you don't mind them taking up the space, can always load up.

What kind of tortoise and how large/old?
That size enclosure is for hatchling size.

Are there suggestions for alternatives for the future? With the nationwide ban in the United States going into effect 8/1/23 the 65 watt bulbs are going to become harder to find and more expensive. They have gone up quite a bit in price from Amazon for what they were in June.

They say the following are not banned, so maybe they will just be fewer and more expensive. However, not gone.

Not banned:
Black lights, bug lamps, colored lamps, infrared lamps, plant lights, flood lights, reflector lamps and traffic signals are not included in the ban, according to the DOE.

Eventually we'll all be buying REPTILE BULBS to get around the ban.
The same incandescent bulbs. But with a photo of a lizard on the box and triple the price.
Stock up now.
It's amazing how many cases of bulbs fit under a bed. I've stockpiled them for my Chameleons.
