Help with a science project

Hi there- my son is doing his science fair project on whether our Russian tortoise prefers certain colors. We have divided the enclosure into a red side and a blue side and are graphing where he spends the most of his time (moving the food, water and hide to be sure he isn’t just going to them.) Problem is his teacher said that to make it valid we need more than one tortoise. Since that is out of the question I was wondering if anyone one be willing to conduct a similar experiment or knows of any color preference research to help us out!
