Help with baby tortoises

my family and I had three tortoises for about seven years in our backyard. We bought them when they were already at least three years old, so they were quite big. We would wash them from time to time, and they ate grass and bugs so they were quite independent

The thing is, we spent this summer vacation outside the country, so we had to give them up. Now that we're back, I went to water the plants and suddenly saw a rock moving. When I picked it up, it turned out to be a baby tortoise! After looking around some more, I found three more babies and three unhatched eggs.

I'm a total beginner when it comes to caring for baby tortoises I never even knew their mother had laid eggs, and I feel bad for separating them. Any tips on how to take good care of them would be really appreciated.

Hello and welcome!

This care sheet should help you with diet, enclosure setup and such: https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/the-best-way-to-raise-any-temperate-species-of-tortoise.183131/

This thread can be helpful for setting up simple space indoors for them:
https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/h...-habitat-out-of-a-55gal-sterilite-bin.217138/

This thread explains how to incubate eggs if you plan to (be careful and do not turn them when handling!):

Don't worry about separating babies and their mother. She forgot about them as soon as she laid the eggs and they don't miss each other.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions!

Don't feel bad for separating the parents. Tortoises don't generally meet their parents and definitely aren't 'raised' by them. They lay eggs and their creator does the rest.
