Hermann skin problems

We have had our Hermanns tortoise for around a year now, he is roughly two years old. He appears fit and healthy, eats a varied diet and is bathed daily. Lately he has been spending more time under his heat lamp and I have noticed changes to his skin around his backend. Is anyone able to advise if these changes are a normal part of skin shedding/growing or if advice from a vet is required? Thanks

Kinda looks like it's scraping against the edge of his carapace. Wait for the experts tho, cuz I'm not an expert

It does look pretty dry, but my first guess was that it's new growth. How often do you soak him?
