First off, I'd like to say that I'm very impressed to see how close this whole community is. My name is Steven and I live in Southern California. I've always had turtles growing up, and I wound up in this forum after researching and trying to find an ethical place to get my first red footed tortoise from. It's a pleasure to meet you all.

WELCOME!!
Red foot is a great tortoise.
Do all of your research first. You'll save time and money and your new tortoise will thank you for it.
You'll need a warm 77-87 degrees and humid 75-90% place for your new friend.
You already have a ton of sunlight, I'm guessing in So. Cal....

Thanks. I've picked up quite a passion and love for the red foot. I've done my share of research and have close contact with a local turtle/tortoise rescue center where I live. Sadly, red foots never come up for adoption there. They seem to be able to find homes quite easily. ;)

WELCOME!
Good luck in finding your tortoise.
You are right, this is a super community, with some smashing people who are helpful, funny and friendly.
You should be able to get all the help you need here and California has a head-start in providing a good climate for your tortoise.
Sorry, can't help you myself with this query, but I hope someone can. No red-foots in Morocco, sadly, but we have our own local tortoises, like my beautiful Greek Tidgy.
Enjoy and learn!

Hi! What kinds of turtles? Are you hoping for a hatchling or an adult? A redfoot or cherryhead?

Hi Steven, and welcome to the Forum!

Take a look at our breeders section. We have quite a few members who raise and sell RF tortoises. If you're looking for a brightly colored Cherry head, Allegraf has some of the prettiest babies I've ever seen. If you're looking for a horse of a different color, take a look at N2TORT's hypo babies.

Welcome Steven! I have two RF and they are great and very personable! I agree with Yvonne, you can't go wrong with either breeder.

In a perfect world, I'd be able to find 2-3 cherry heads who are 2 years plus. I have a beautiful back yard that I'd like to utilize for my tortoises. I've already started my landscaping to accommodate for the little buggers.

Hi Steven, Welcome to the forum. This is Steven.

Welcome! ! !
Would it make it easier if I changed my name to Steven too?
It's a reasonably good name, so i don't mind.
You could call your Redfoot Steven as well, Steven from Ventura.
Lots of Steven's in California

All of my pets and children are named Steven. It just makes things easier.
