So bare with me,

my shelled friend is a hermanne, i have had him since a baby, hes now 6, everywhere at the time i read, was told to hibernate, i have done for the past 4 years
and this one would be the 5th, but reading more and more about Brumation and that you shouldn't hibernate your tort, especially in captivity, his set up is inside, has correct temps and space etc.

my question is, as i have done this for the past 4 year with zero issues etc, should i continue to hibernate? or change and not hibernate him and leave him out?

If they brumate in the wild, they should be brumated in captivity too. Having said that, they appear to be fine if people choose to not brumate them, but sometimes they want to do it anyway and refuse to go along with the ideas of their human. More info here:

How have you brumated him in the past?

Where? What temperatures? How long? What did you do to prepare?

so i have hibernated him in the past, wound him down for 15/16 days with no food, plenty of water and daily baths, i then done the fridge method of boxing him up and putting him in the fridge for 6 weeks,
