Horsefield skin

Just checking this is normal skin shedding on my tortoises neck. He’s and 8 years old horsefield tortoise...I’ve attached a photo. Thank you. Quite a new owner. Learning all the time :)

Nothing to worry about.

All animals shed old skin. Snakes do it tidily all in one go. Humans do it in tiny bits that become house dust. Tortoises do it in patches and look downright tatty at times. There’s no need for treatment or potions. The old skin will rub off as your tort goes about its business. Don’t pull at it as you may create a sore spot where there is none now.
