So I have read threads on TFO about if you keep tortoise eggs hotter than others in an incubator there is a chnace they may be female...

If pregnant woment wrapped their bump in a hot wateer bottle and scarf... why wouldnt it work for them? Or does it?

xx

Don't you wish life was that predictable...

It doesn't work that way... as such.

The gender of many species of tortoises and turtles can be "determined" by the incubation temperatures. But it is not a guarantee that you are going to get only one gender either. Lower temperatures typically produce more males, higher temperatures usually produce more females. Rarely is it 100%. I incubate all of my tortoise eggs at higher temperatures to produce predominately female offspring which it does. But within that I also have approximately 1 or 2 males born out of every 5 or 6 egg clutch.

Determining the gender of a pregnant woman is a whole different ball game! We're mammals with an entirely different "incubation" system!

I am sure if it worked that way for humans then china would not have such a problem, IMHO.

Don't let it out until there is a stem on the apple.
