Here is a few pictures of my new sulcata. I got him/her tonight. Is the enclosure suitable for a short period.

Any advise would be great

Welcome to the Forum, drewsifer.

A couple of things...baby tortoises will hardly ever eat hay. I know that's what all the literature tells you to feed sulcatas, and its great for a bigger sulcata, but babies won't/can't eat it. You can feed him weeds, soft grasses and grocery store greens like escarole, endive, raddiccio, mustard, turnip greens, dandelion greens, etc. Buy something different each time.

The other thing...your little habitat is nice for a short while, but its a little on the small side. Sink your water dish down into the substrate. Do you have lights over the habitat? It should be around 80F degrees overall while he's a baby, with it being about 100F directly under the light.

Hello and Welcome:) read the threads at the bottom of my post. They will help a lot in the raising of your little one. Also, take emysemys advice and make the changes. Make sure you have a UVB light, very important. Also, humidity is very important 80% and that goes along with the temps emysemys suggested.

It will work for a little while, and like Yvonne said, sink the water bowl into the substrate so that the bowl is flush...

My thought is with having that tall of a flower pot for the hide, it would make a great one for you to use a sponge on. That is a sponge on the inside of the pot, attached to the roof. It's high enough your little guy could not reach the sponge to eat it, but by keeping the sponge wet you make it into a humid hide.

Thanks everyone for the advise. I have added greens to his diet and he has a UVB and heat lamp. I'm in the process of making a custom enclosure once the holidays are done
