How do I cut Olivia's nails? Or do I have to take her to Petsmart or the vet to get them trimmed. She has burrowed through her carrier and was so proud of herself but buying new carriers is getting expensive 😆
Those nails are healthy for a russian tort so long as they aren't curled.

If you use terracotta dishes for food and water, and add a large flat rock that's got a rough-ish surface (or another terracotta saucer that is face-down and buried, level, into the substrate so that its just a flat surface to walk across), and make it so that she has to walk over it a lot (mine sits under the edge of the dish where I feed her so she has to cross it to get to her food), it will help keep them worn down a bit more. But as said above, they're actually in good shape at the moment.

Should you have to clip them, perch her on a can and don't clip very much, so that you don't accidentally hit the blood vessel inside. Its better to do a lot less a couple times (a couple weeks apart) than cut too much and cause it to bleed.
