My Russian has an outdoor enclosure. It's in the mid 50's as a low overnight with days high at 80-85. I thought I should bring him in at night as it might be too cold, but when I went out to get him he is completely dug under his log. I would have to dig out the log to get him. So how low can he go at night? Do I need to dig him out?
Thanks

Those are wonderful temps for a Russian. In my area, last night it went down to 49, but warmed to 75, my torts were out and about at midday, basking.
Make sure your tort has a couple of different spots to pick for the night, including someplace that is drier (even under a large shrub).

I read of a fellow on another forum who keeps Russians out all year; they hibernate under a log and pop up every March. :0
