Hello everyone,

I have built a new enclosure for my sulcata. The temps are good, but i can't get the humidity right.
It doesn't matter how much water i spray in it, the humidity stays at around 40%. Anyone knows what might cause this or how i can fix this problem? Here are some pics of my new enclosure that might help solving the problem :)
(The open space on the sides is for ventilation)

Thanks in advance!

"Spraying" usually doesn't get enough water in there to provide much humidity. You need to actually pour a pitcher full of water or more over the substrate and mix it up with your hand. Then as it dries, pour more water into a corner, which will flow under the top layer, moistening the substrate. Some people also use a humidifier.

Be sure to use warm water and the gauges you are using are not reliable and should be closer to the height of your tortoise.

That is a nice looking enclosure. The fewer openings you have the more moisture you will keep inside the chamber. They don't need ventilation holes. Opening it for cleaning and feeding is usually enough air for them.

I agree with the above. Cover the holes amd get a digital acurite gauge for temp and humidity. It is a pretty enclosure.
