Hi guys, I have a Hermanns tortoise and was wondering if its home needs to be humid. When I brought my tortoise I was told I shouldn’t make its home humid as it would cause respiratory problems but looking at the other threads, everybody makes there tortoise home humid. Obviously I want the best for my tortoise so should I make its home humid? Thank you.

I'm not a Hermanns expert, but according to HermanniChris in this forurm: "Humidity needs to build overnight for this species and during the day it can be allowed to drop significantly. In nature they cram together in moist retreats and leave them in the morning. As long as water is always available it's fine."
