I know sulcatas most likely see in color BUT can they see in the dark?

I'm asking bc when I turn out the lights for "night time" it's def really dark ESP in the rubber maid since I use a heat emitter that doesn't produce light.

Any thoughts?

Their eyesight is there, I bet the tort will even wonder about in the enclosure.....so, yes, they can see in the dark---there is no reason to believe they can not.....I believe their eyesight would be much more efficient during day light....

Sulcata's have large eye globes in relation to their overall head size so they definitely have some low level light vision.

They have more cones than rods in their eyes so they definitely can discriminate between colors.

I have a large Sulcata who puts himself to bed if he is out after the timer has turned his light off, and it is pitch black in his shed then...
