This morning when I woke up, I heard thunder, then it started pouring!! I ran out and dug brains up to bring him in. The poor tortoise looked at me like WTH lady! Why didn't I leave him alone? I just couldn't help myself! I feel so bad didn't leave him alone. Hopefully next time I can show some restraint.

The concept of rain is July is so foreign to me...

It hardly rains here even during the "rainy" season in the winter...

Lol, Pam, our tortoises think were nuts!

Tom- it would be strange to me if it did not rain! It hasn't rained here in a couple of weeks and we really need it, my front lawn is crunchy...

Laurie, you've got a baby Russian, right? As long as he has a dry hideout he can burrow into, you can leave him outside. I forgot where you live, but in many climates here in the US, you could leave him out year-round.

We had a steady rain for about 3 hours early yesterday morning(2am to 5am)....fell asleep on the couch right under the front room windows (it was awesome, cool wind and the smell of parched ground getting what it needs) and I was woken up by the dog freaking out a bit with the thunder...so since I was up I took my flashlight and creeped out onto the porch and spotlighted Humphry to make sure no flooding...all was good so I went ahead and let him be a big old CDT....lol..

Now, in a couple of weeks you will hear me moaning and groaning about the stupid goat heads that will be all over the front of the property....ugghhhh, only bad thing about the summer rains is the darn goat heads......ouch.

I don't, he has an indoor enclosure for cold weather :)
