Ibera greek tortoises sleep all day

I have 3 Ibera greek tortoises.

They are about 15cm.

1 male and 2 females.

They are going through winter for the first time.


The temperature of the Basking Zone is 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, but the midday temperature is only over 20 degrees Celsius because it is winter here. Since it sometimes records minus 3 degrees Celsius at night, we are currently using a night box, and the temperature in the box is set at 19 degrees Celsius. The box is covered with more than 10cm of soil and is covered with hay on it. The torts are currently digging into it and sleeping, and on days when the daytime temperature exceeds 20 degrees Celsius, only one largest female briefly comes out and eats a little food, and the other two torts have not come out for more than 10 days. Is it okay if they don't come out for a long time?

You should not have hay for bedding. And do you have all three Greeks in that cage? Cause that cage looks kinda small.

I covered the hay because it seemed too humid and cold. Should I clean it up? The night box is 90x45cm in size. Three turtles are sleeping together in the box. Boxes are for sleeping only on cold winter nights, and if I use a box that's too big, it's hard to maintain the temperature, so I'm using a smaller box, so should I use a bigger one?
