Thanks for the info. If anyone out there is interested in adopting this gal, look for the info in the Adoptions thread this week. She came in is a rescue and I have no room for her!
There is a ruler in the picture although you can't read the numbers very well. I'd say about 7 inches (I don't have her in front of me).
Here is what I know:
The owner had her for 1.5 years. The owner got her from some gal that said she was 4 years old. She was kept in a glass enclosure on coco coir with no traction and a heat source, no uva/uvb, water access but not able to go into the bowl and no soaking, fed pet store turtle food that looks like dehydrated Trix and vegitables. Her claws are very long and her beak needs a small trim. Her skin is in decent shape although with some care it will look much better. Eyes, nose clear.
Overall, she's doing well. Active, LOVES being outside. Could hardly contain her to get a picture. Really enjoyed getting a bath. I think she needs proper care and diet and she'll be around for years!
If you are interested, please PM me. Where in SW WA are you?
I can't take in any more tortoises right now... I wish I could! With 4 RTs, 1 Greek, 1 foster Greek, and a foster chameleon, I have my hands pretty full.
I bet you'll be able to find a good, knowledgeable home for her though! If I had more space, I totally would take her in...
