I am looking to provide my tort with the best functioning enclosure I can possibly give, would anyone have suggestions on attaining this? The measurements are 4x4 and as of now am using a cypress substrate big enough chunks that he won't ingest. Any tips would be much appreciated on decor or new substrate :) thank you in advance

I would suggest terra cotta plant saucers sunk into the substrate for food and water, and I would suggest adding a humid hide over near the basking area.

I have a marginated tortoise in the enclosure, the temp I keep at 98degrees Celsius. The level of hungry is roughly 50% I spray it down once a day. Any suggestions on anything I can fix or upgrade feel free I need the criticism. I want the best for my little guy.

I would make the substrate about 4 in. Deep cause first you want to plant in it . Second it will hold more water to raise the humidity . If your temp is 98 degrees Celsius TURN it down if it's Fahrenheit day time that's different . I would cover it with some tin foil to raise the humidity . That souls give you a good start . Have a great tort day !

4'x4' really isn't very big. Yes, if you have a big 4' open space, it seems very big, however, once you add several sight barriers, a feeding tile, a waterer and a couple of hiding places, you have no space left over for walking. 4'x8' would be better.

(sight barriers - plants, boulders, knick-knacks, etc.)

Being An indoor enclosure with limited space in my house 4x8 wouldn't be possible as of now. In a perfect world yes but I do not have an empty room for him. Sticking with the 4x4 enclosure for now, do u have suggestions on that?

Sight barriers I agree are practical but knick knacks are purely for aesthetics would they not? They don't serve the tortoise any purpose. I want to make his space good for him not for me

I think Yvonne was implying that knick knacks can be used as barriers :)
