Hi! I have been an owner for 19 years but recently found this forum :) I have one red eared slider; however, I couldn't figure out the species of the other one. She is 19 years old, omnivorous and can digest food without water. Also I realized that she is more intelligent than her red eared slider friend :) So can anyone help me with the identification of her? Thank you! :tort::)

Looks like a Caspian turtle to me. Mauremys caspica. Native to your area.
Figures it would be one of the pond turtles. I've had a few western pond turtles that don't need water when they eat, and I'll bet there are some wood turtles that don't need water too.

Thank you so much for the answers! Special thanks to Markw84. Finally, I figured out the species of this black beauty. By the way, is there anyone who owns(or owned in the past) a Caspian turtle?
