hi everyone
we got a young sulcata toroise a few days ago and just wanted to check a few things.
what would you say a suitable size enclosure would be for indoors? our tort is only around 1 year so isnt very big yet probably slightly larger than the palm of my hand.

the substrate we are using is Komodo Tropical terrain and wood chippings is this ok?

we are feeding him a mixture of grass, collard greens some dandelion and a mixture of dried marigold, rose and sunflower petals and have been dusting with calcium with d3. how often do we need to dust his food as i have read only a couple times a week but our tort doesnt seem to eat his food unless its been dusted and i dont want to give him too much, also is there any type of vegetable that i should not feed him? i know fruits are limited but just want to ask before i give him something i shouldn't.

we have been soaking him but i feel like his shell looks dry and im not sure wether it should be like that.

any suggestions and comments would be helpful thanks.

Hello and Welcome. Give him as large of an enclosure as possible. They grow fast and needs lots of space for muscle growth. At least a 4x8 and that might last a year or so. He needs high humidity 80% with temps no lower then 80 until he is large enough to live outside during warm months and then will need a humid night box. A pinch of calcium twice a week is all needed even less if a proper varied diet is maintained. Fruits should not be fed, but squashes and bell peppers can be added as a treat once in a while but not needed. Try hay and grasses along with weeds and greens.
