Introduction

Hi, I’m Caroline and this is my Sulcata tortoise, Dry Bones. I am a new tortoise owner and understand the amount of responsibility I have taken on. I have joined looking for any and all advice, as well as general turtle talk, in order to provide the best environment and life for my tort!

More background: A mutual friend was rehoming this little one with all current equipment included (although I have since changed everything except enclosure to better accommodate this species), so I could not pass up the opportunity. I have always loved turtles/tortoises and have read several books, so I felt like I had at least a solid basis of information to go on, however I felt this was the best place to continue receiving the most up-to-date, informed knowledge.

Hello and Welcome. Forget what the books say. Wrong outdated info in them. Please follow our care sheet so you can get him to start growing smooth has he already as a lot of pyramiding going on which means he was raised hot and dry.
