Hello,

Thanks everyone for the good information I got here.
I have almost completely changed the diet of Yoshi, my Russian to outdoor greens.

I have decided to make the most of the good summer and gather as much plants as I can for her.

What do you think?

My current mix now consists of:

Plantain (Plantago Major/Lanceolate)
Clover ( Trifolium sp.)
Dandelion leaves (the flowers are coming in bloom this month, so yay for that:)
Chicory (cichorium intybus) ( she just loves this)

I have not yet learned to recognize all of the edibles but I am studying and doing my research.

Thank you all for your responses.
What I actually wanted to know, was if my little mix has sufficient variety in it, and enough nutritional value.

Well... it says on the website " creeping charlie" the purple variety has some substances that might be harmful to mammals... I wouldn't actually try that out on my tortoise, I'd go with the safe varieties:)

THAT is the one I meant to upload!! Creeping jenny can also be called (golden) moneywart. That is all over the yard too, and they like the flowers.

Found another website that clears up all this charlie business!
I am so sorry about the first picture!! I'll double check next time. :(

Too much clover and dandelion can be a bad thing too. Mullberry leaf is pretty perfect tort food if you have any. Different thistles can be good and easy to find too. You will need to find a bit more variety to be a balanced diet
