So after reexamining Roger (I think I got the age wrong too) he is 7cm long so that would mean him around 18 months old....
Right ?

His tail is very short!
His front claws are very short!
His plastron seems flat! (when I looked before I didn't realise mud turtles had the hinged plastron).

All this adds up to him being a her....

Am I right ?

I'm looking now on how to post the pictures :)

Also FYI, in the mud turtle family the claws on the front feet are not an indicator of sex. Although in some of the Mexican Kinosternon species the older males will develop heavier and slightly more massive claws than the females of the same species. But you don’t notice this until they are older. Same goes for their heads, some species (oaxacae, creaseri, herrerai, scorpioides) the older males develop massive heads in time.
