Is this a boy?

Got this awesome russian from craigslist yesterday. I think he's a male but I'm not sure. When I got him he was being kept in a very small box and fed diced carrots and peas. He now happily resides in my covered backyard pen planted with weeds. He eats pretty good and is super strong.

I call male. When walking, the tail is tucked to the side, right?

Tail does look tucked in the next pic. Nice looking fellow considering the diet he had? He must think he is in paradise!

Yes I think his tail is tucked to the side when walking.
He's heavy as a rock.
I think the people who I got him from only had him for a little while so luckily he dîdnt lose weight while he was with them.
He was a eating a lot this afternoon. I gave him spring mix, weeds, and some flowers.

Nice! How old/big is he?

I don't know how old he is but I tried to measure his shell it's about 4.75" scl.
Difficult to measure him as he keeps moving about and refuses to keep his head in but I think I got an accurate reading.
