Hi all, ive had my russian for about 2 years, he usually eats a mix of dandelions and store bought dark leafy greens, there is now a huge shortage of salad in glasgow (and all of scotland/ uk ) so today i decided to try the pro rep food that i have jad since i got him

I have always felt that it is to hard and too big, he can kind of crush it into smaller peices but i have seen him eat it whole, and i am worried about possible chocking ?

The pieces do fit in his mouth but without any wiggle room. Maybe im over thinking it but just want to make sure, * i have tried wetting it. And it doesnt make it any softer :/ . Any advice is much appreciated

Just soak your pellets longer. Eventually they absorb enough water. Chokes can choke on hard food objects, so your concern isnt unwarranted.

I put my pellet food in a small Tupperware and fill it with water to cover the pellets, then set it in the fridge over night. In the morning its absorbed all the moisture and is nice and soft and ready to go. My pellets don't have all those little extras those so that may make all the difference
