Hi there! This is my first post on TortoiseForum but I read these threads religiously to take care of my tortoise, Norman. I adopted my Hermann's from a rescue back in January. They told me when I adopted him that he is four years old. I got him a big wooden enclosure and I use ReptiBark. I spot clean daily and replace the full substrate every 2-3 months. I just noticed this spot on his plastron on the right... I am having trouble telling if it feels soft or not. He is also a BIG climber - he likes climbing anything and everything, so I wonder often if he is scratching the bottom of his shell and if that affects him. Is anyone able to advise me if this is the beginning of shell rot? If so, what should my next steps be? Thank you!!IMG_1914.jpeg

I hope the big wooden enclosure is at least a 4x8 foot. That's the minimum for and adult. I have pictured in my head the wooden ones the pet stores sell and they barely give a hatchling enough room.
I agree with ZEROPILOT, no rot just normal stuff.
