Is tortoise your pet

I saw here so many people like tortoise, is tortoise your pet?
Do you have special meaning or story about tortoises? I know in China, tortoises symbolize longevity, and people like tortoise sculptures more than alive tortoise.

YES tortoise are our pets and like our children. We love them and take care of them like we would take care of our children. Thank you.

And are frequently more pleasent to be around than my teenagers...but, then, again, so are our dogs, cats, guinea pigs, canaries, snakes and mini-hog!

When I was going through some tough times, I turned to native american rituals. (I know this sounds weird, but it'll all make sense lol) In Native American tribes animals were sacred, and almost like their own deities (one of the reasons for totempoles). They believed in spiritual guides, basically an animal that would guide them through life. And after meditation I had become to believe that the tortoise was my spiritual guide. I have always loved turtles but after this realization I became turtle crazy haha. I found balance in drawing and painting turtles, and so one day I decided to buy one. And I cherish him so much and couldn't be more balanced and happy.

So, what sort of tortoise do you keep, gicasaxt?

We seldom feed tortoise, but will keep tortoises sculptures made from different materials, such as jade, metal, wood and so on, as for Fengshui decoration.
