I saw here so many people like tortoise, is tortoise your pet?
Do you have special meaning or story about tortoises? I know in China, tortoises symbolize longevity, and people like tortoise sculptures more than alive tortoise.

Sometimes better than our kids... my torts eat more leafy greens than my kids do, and have more baths than my kids. LOL

And are frequently more pleasent to be around than my teenagers...but, then, again, so are our dogs, cats, guinea pigs, canaries, snakes and mini-hog! ;)

So, what sort of tortoise do you keep, gicasaxt? :)

When I was going through some tough times, I turned to native american rituals. (I know this sounds weird, but it'll all make sense lol) In Native American tribes animals were sacred, and almost like their own deities (one of the reasons for totempoles). They believed in spiritual guides, basically an animal that would guide them through life. And after meditation I had become to believe that the tortoise was my spiritual guide. I have always loved turtles but after this realization I became turtle crazy haha. I found balance in drawing and painting turtles, and so one day I decided to buy one. And I cherish him so much and couldn't be more balanced and happy. :D
Hopefully it makes sense
Katie

Hi Gicasaxt:

This post is very close to being spam. If you are the seller of the tortoise sculptures, you should post it in the "for sale" section of the forum.

We don't allow spam on the tortoise forum, and we usually ban spammers. However, I'm not real sure of your intentions in joining the forum, so I'm cutting you a break.

Welcome to the forum. I'd love to hear more about tortoise-keeping in China.

We seldom feed tortoise, but will keep tortoises sculptures made from different materials, such as jade, metal, wood and so on, as for Fengshui decoration.

Thanks. I just would like to learn more about tortoises. Selling here is not a wise way, I think.
