...since we rescued the TGI. I have learned so much from this forum so far.

I have changed out the substrate from Timothy Hay to coconut fiber, soil with sand and aspen shaving. Just by doing that really changed the behavior of this little guy. He ran all over the enclosure, climbed on his half dome bark thingie, and climbed down...did that over and over...has been basking under the T-Rex.

It pleases me to see him doing well. I soaked him today and he seemed to enjoy it.

Next Wed. we go for a vet check!

I love tortoises, for some reason they bring me joy just to watch them!

Well sounds as if you've been bit by the tortoise bug. Welcome to the club. :D
Sounds like you have your TGI set up well have you decided on a name yet, or waitn for him to pick his own?
Now that doesn't sound as weird as it seems I sometimes give mine nick names then after awhile I start to call them something else that just suits their personality and seems to stick. :p

Well, I gave him the name "Sufi Nasruddin" with the Turkish influence and all. But the family dosen't like it...what to do...we will observe him a bit more, then perhaps come up with the perfect moniker??

Congrats! Sounds like things are going well for you. Anytime a tortoise goes through a funk, changing up their enclosure to simulate them is something you can always do. :) They love exploring.
