So its been 9 years since we got izzi and shes just come out of hibernation. This is her 3rd enclosure that i have built my self it is 4.5ftX4.5ft. We use arcadia D3 bulb, pro rep substrate and we normally try to pick her food fresh but shes being a little slow, picky and mopey due to waking up this last week so making it easier for her for a bit with tortoise weetabix

. She especially enjoys going to the upstairs bit and doing whatever it is tortoises do and she makes good use of the shade it also provides underneath.

You've done a nice job making an interesting place for your tortoise to live. The next time you feel you have to change the substrate, change it to either fir bark, coco coir or cypress mulch. Some tortoises tend to eat those little white bits in the Pro Rep substrate and they encourage tortoises to eat their substrate. I like how you've made it easier for the tortoise to get into his waterer, and the 'stockade' fence!

I'm not sure how that "clamp lamp" is attached. But DO NOT TRUST the clamp itself.
Secure it with some screws or zip ties, etc to make sure that when the clamp fails...and it wil... the light won't fall into the enclosure and start a fire.
