Jimmy's chin

Hi,

I was after some advice, since i have had my little tort (he is just over 9 months old) i have fed him on a piece of slate, i was contemplating changing that for now to feeding him in a little smooth bowl, my reason for this is because the scraping of his chin against the slate when he eats has caused the skin to look as though it has been rubbed away and i'm concerned that it will just keep wearing away at his little chin, apart from this he is doing absolutely great, opinions on this idea would be much appreciated.

Mostly the tortoise keepers on this forum use a slate feeding tile like you are doing so that the tortoise's beak stays trimmed naturally.

You should post of photo of Jimmy's chin so the veterans here can take a look and advise you.
