my female Red Cheeked mud turtle laid her first clutch since I’ve owned her. Total of 3 eggs. Exciting for me but I honestly don’t even know if they are fertile. I’ve never had a turtle lay eggs before so first time doing this. It’s been a great learning process and I’m hoping my other female lays some soon too. I have 2 full grown females and 1 full grown male. And also a 3.5 inch red cheek in a separate enclosure which looks like a female to me.

Egg #1 was found submerged underwater when I woke up 2-23 early morning. I don’t know how long it was in there and assume it was the same female who I watched lay eggs 2 & 3. #1 doesn’t appear to be fertile.

Egg #2 was also underwater but I watched the big female Lulu lay it. It was layed shortly after I woke up that morning to turn the light on.

Egg #3 laid on 2-27 I watched lulu lay this one also and removed it right away.

They have a nesting spot in their enclosure but maybe they don’t like it.

The eggs have been incubating at 84-85 ° Fahrenheit with nearly 100%humidity. 50/50 mix of sphagnum moss and perlite.

This is Letty the smaller female who hasn’t laid any eggs. 98A78C6C-E8C9-4586-BC43-22B6AE309475.jpeg
Below is the male. I’m unsure how old these guys are but I think they’re just stunning. His name is Rhino.0A367C2D-670C-46A4-A1ED-27D01042AB68.jpeg

This is my female, Lulu, who laid the eggs. I believe her colors might become more vivid with some time, proper diet, and lighting. Also this photo isn’t the best. I’ve owned her for a short while now.AE867A99-54DF-492A-977D-C76EC6343970.jpeg
