A lady I know who has leopard tortoises called today saying her female had laid eggs and she didn't want them. She said, "Come get them if you want them or they're going in the trash." So I high tailed it over there and now they're snug in my incubator. Any tips on how to encourage them to hatch would be much appreciated (as I'm very new to Leopards.)

Awesome, I wish I knew people like that :)

Sorry I can't help with the incubation question.

That is really cool. Let us know how it turns out. Did you have to dig them up?

Oh my gosh, I'm glad you saved the eggs from going to the trash.

I keep my incubation temp at 86 degrees. 70% humidity. I put a bowl of water right beneath the heater to maintain that humidity.

I would do the same.

Must be nice to know someone like that? Does your friend have a male?

Yes, there is a male and female. She usually incubates the eggs herself, but she just doesn't want to anymore. She also gave me six eggs the female had laid around the yard (not in a nest) so I popped those in the incubator as well - although they don't look like they are chalking up. So all in all - she gave me 14 eggs! I hope at least one of them hatches!

Well if you ever get over loaded with eggs let me know, I would love to try my hand at hatching some little leo's. I'm in SoCal also and would jump at the opportunity to have the experience.
