Hello everyone,

My husband and I already have a sulcata and feel pretty comfortable with his care, but have recently been offered a leopard tortoise that has been getting passed around. Before we commit to taking him on, in a separate enclosure don't worry, we wanted to ask the community if there are any notable differences in needs between these two species, or anything else you all feel we should know. The tortoise is seven years old and roughly eight to ten inches long, so we are planning to keep him in an outdoor enclosure if we do take him in.

I agree with @NorCal tortoise guy

I would add the depending on the genetics of your leopard, it might not like to eat hay or grass as much as your sulcata does, or should. Some leopards love grass and grass hay, and some don't.
Thank you, he has been mostly inside and I don't know how much grass he has had, so this is good to know
