Hello all again! Danny and wilma are back with news! So I builded 2 enclosures and the best space i could take is 6.6 x 6.6 (2 meters x 2 meters) for each tortoise! Please what's the best month to let them start from the beginning? Now I have 10 degrees at night and in day 22 in the atmosphere! The humidity is very high at 90% at night! I finally found a vet that has occupation in wild life and I told him the whole historical for my tortoises and he told me that its urgent to give them natural life from now on! He gave me instructions what to do and at least to give them calcium gluconate in injections because 2 years without good uvb and diet its reasonable to have flexible shell! Is it good from March to let them outside?

Their shells are flexible 3 years! I struggle to make it strong and I can't! My vet told me its not strong dosages! Do you have any other solution to suggest? I give them sun everyday!

I sprinkle 3 times per week with multivitamins! My vet told me we have to give them injections because powder won't do anything! Their shells remains flexible 3 years! Do you think not to give them another injections?

How squishy? Cause injections usually give them anxiety
In one tortoise is down to the belly! Not soft! A little bit flexible! In my wilma the whole back shell at the end of the tail! I worry especially for this! My vet told me exactly where to do the injection without pain them and there is no nerve in that spot! I tried the first and they didn't feell anything! They didn't even move! They didn't even blink their eyes! The move nice like nothing happened! I did the first and one more left! My vet told me also not to give them any other calcium supplements for one month! Should I give them the second one you think?

22C on a sunny day is great for your tortoises to stay outside (still, shade must be provided at all times). I would bring them inside for the night for now, though (when nighttime temperatures reach 15C you can leave them outside). When it's rainy and cloudy you can still let them out for a few hours.

Calcium injections are okay, when dosage is calculated correctly and tortoises are not stressed. I would follow your vet's recommendation (do a second injection and hold off with calcium supplements).

If it’s a little probably not a problem. Plus what species?
They are Russians! It's 2 years in their first years of their life i took advices from pet shops! 2 years without good uvb sun or lamps and not good diet with calcium supplements! 2 years without this is think its serious!

This vet is more experience than the previous i had! And yes he told me the spot for the injection without give them pain and no hit some nerve! Tje dosage is a low! My problem is that I builded these enclosure in my uncle's garden which is 4 kilometers distance with the car! That's why I can't leave them right now there! I think i have to wait until at the end of the march!

These animals evolved over thousands of years. The less intervention, the better.

I, personally wouldn't have even taken them to a vet. BUT - you have to do what you feel best with.

I would focus on foods and calcium powder with D3. Unless the shell feels as soft as a balloon and excessively flexes, adding the calcium naturally (through food and supplements) is the better way, in my opinion.

Please share a profile picture of Wilma. You are saying the back of her shell is lower? Does she walk up on her feet and legs in back or have trouble lifting up her back end?

I try to find calcium with d3 but in Greece for some reason they don't bring anymore and I use normal calcium! Is that enough? Wilma moves very good, she can lift her shell and eats good and she is very vivid! She stills try to eat rocks! My vet told me if this summer both of tortoises live outside their shell will become stronger! To be honest it will be their first time since I never had space for them and I used to give them sun outside some hours in summer and winter! With my finger i indicate this area from left to right is flexible! My vet also told me maybe themis area too is dehydrated!

Keeping the substrate moist enough will definitely help keep the humidity up. What level does it stay at?

And being in the sun will help with bone growth! But be sure there are places your tortoises can get into shade to cool down if they want.

Please show a profile picture or two (a side view that we can easily see the shape of her shell).
