Hi, I need some lighting advice for my Hermann's Tortoise. I have a ZooMed tortoise house enclosure, and I need some help with the lighting. I have a 25 watt UVB strip bulb, a heating pad, and a Nocturnal infared heat lamp as well. I want to know how long I should keep these lamps on, and If this is healthy for him. (The last thing I need is an unhealthy tortoise!) Do I need anything else for his enclosure? Are the lamps to close? (Also, this isn't lighting related, but do I need a water bowl? I feed him Romaine Lettuce, Dandelion Leaves, and fruits) If you could respond to this ASAP, this would be great. Thanks.

Yes, you need a water dish. A terra cotta plant sauver works great. No fruit. Too much sugar is not good for them. I leave my lights on from 7am to 10 pm. I turn everything off at night and let temp get down to low 70. Mine is an adult though. Here is a care sheet for russians who have the same care as your hermanns. Look over the diet especially.
