Lighting question

How high should the light be above the tortoise table? It is a 100 watt mercury vapor bulb. Thanks in advance!!!:D

Using the recommended heights given by the manufacturer (on box or package insert), you should adjust it to achieve whatever temperature you want below the bulb. Keep in mind that the higher you go, less UVB will reach your tortoise.

Most of the bulbs I've used before have set a minimum distance of 12". The recommended range is usually 12 - 18". I'd start at 18" and lower it until you get what you want. I usually go for 100* - 105*f directly under the lamp.
