I had thought that Cooter came out of brumation, but he was just out for a couple days, ate some, drank some, then back to bed. I havent seen him in over a week. I was lookin forward to him being out early this year, but he just teased me.

Ha ha! Thats to funny . You need to get you a red foot for winter time . That why you will have a tortoise for winter .

True. I used to have a leopard and sulcata which was nice for the winter months

This has been my experience as well. Touche' will come out for a couple of days in February, then go back in. They seem to come out the way they go in....slowly....your Cooter is letting you know he is ok but needs a little more sleep.
