The one in the picture at the time exceeds 600 pounds. His name is Hommer and he is one of our best male breeders. He was originally at Parrot Jungle prior us.Livingstone said:Thanks yours too. Its amazing the scale difference. That aldab in yours probably weighs in at 200+ pounds.

Livingstone said:The key to getting them to eat mazuri is to soak the pellets in boiling water, until they expand and become soggy. Then you make one large mazuri ball and put it on the feeding tile. I use 6 pellets in a small saucer, then pour boiling water on top of them. Its important to use a saucer not much larger than the amount of mazuri, otherwise it gets too soggy. You will know you have done it right when the mazuri absorbs all the water and has expanded but has not broken apart. I mean that you can still see the pellet shape.
I truly believe that the hydration from eating wet mazuri really helps to keep them hydrated.
I wasn't criticized directly, but most people feel mazuri is a supplement, I feed it daily along with greens.

Been wondering how I could get mine to eat the mazuri. I've been feeding him dry mazuri.
